Emergency Department The San Joaquin Emergency Dept has approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. San Joaquin is a 255 bed acute care hospital with a medical staff of more than 450 physicians representing every major specialty. The hospital has the county's first Nationally Certified Stroke Center and Nationally Accredited Chest Pain Center under one roof, a full-treatment Grossman Burn Center and an award winning Maternity Care Center with neonatal ICU services. Our team consists of BC/BE Emergency room physicians and a very qualified support staff. There are currently 70 hours of physician coverage per day.
